CREATION Established on 20th December 2000 on the initiative of the local action group (LAG), the association of local producers in Rochefort has 13 members, including 9 producers. Its registered offices are situated in Rochefort, 1 place ALBERT 1er. On the initiative of the local authorities, the preparatory work for recruiting members, defining objectives and drafting the articles of association of the non-profit organisation, was entrusted to the management and consultancy company LTDV CONSULT in Namur.

OBJECTIVES The aim of the association is to promote and distribute quality food and farm products from the Rochefort area. The association will achieve this aim in a variety of manners through advertising, marketing, taking part in national and/or international shows, assisting in the marketing of products and by developing and implementing a quality charter, helping small and medium-sized enterprises and seeking out partners. By the presence and arrival of a number of producers within the business estate, a food and farming product focus has been created, de facto, in Rochefort, which the association intends to weld together by way of internal communication and grouping under a common banner, as well as by working with the tourist sites of one of Belgium’s most visited regions. The early achievements of the association, including current site, benefit from measure 4 of the Leader 2 initiative jointly financed by the Agriculture Directorate-General of the Ministry of the Walloon Region, the European Union’s European Fund for Orientation and Farming Guarantee (EFOFG) and member producers.

MEMBERS The founder members of the association are: - the town of Rochefort, - the tourist board for Val de Lesse, - the Rochefort tourist office, - the tourist office for Han sur Lesse, as well as the following producers: - the Rochefort beekeeping association, - sa Nijskens & cie, - Ets Monseu, - sprl Rezette, - sa Grottes de Han sur Lesse et de Rochefort, - association for the promotion of the site at Malagne, - Notre-Dame de Saint Rémy abbey, - La Comogne farm, - sprl société fermière Rochefort Ardennes.
